Greenhouse Effect have rocked their way into the top 100 All Time "Grunge", "Emo", and "Alternative" Rock Categories at Myspace.com as of March 6, 2009 and the very interesting reading that is 'The G.e. archives" is the key. The band has apparently now settled on a possible 'in place' three piece 'line up' for a come-back show with Clark Hagins on Guitar and lead vocals, Martin Silva (G.e's drummer in parts of 1991 and 92') on Drums, and new bassist Hagan Kelley replaces Rick Carmody. "People wanna see a show - they see us having fun and acting crazy on the internet from the old school but,..they wanna see us again now,...sure,..I would like to jam with Ted,...but I am prepared to move forward and jam with my nephew,.....the version of the band with Flipper will happen eventually ,..but due to distance and with him being way up in San Jose,...I have to 'move on' and just 'do this" says Clark Hagins. Hagan Kelly previously jammed with Hagins in 1997 and maybe parts of early 1998 as the band were preparing a 'comeback' rehearsing at Tubby's in Torrance - the home of Joe Groovey Dude. "Groovey Dude came into the room one day and he angrily asked us to leave and told us to turn down ,..that was bullshit and i lost all respect for him right then and there" says Haggins "We had some great jams there at Tubbys,..my nephew was going through a weird phase and we were kicking out all the songs from 'Going Legit' (G.e's 1991 album and one of their best),...we were kicking out some tight jams of BEN IS DEAD, STAR, BRANDY, WAITING FOR YOUR LOVE TO FAIL, Hey Negrita, Winers Diners, and maybe a version of 'WHITE BLACK' ,..we were gettin' it together but then,...it all ended,..my nephew hooked up with this Carlsbad chick that later on became his wife,...and then i went onto form the South Bay band 'Svengali' in 1998 with the late Mike Rimmey and my brother Paul,...there never was that late 1990's G.e. comeback but we had something good planned,..i remember that my nephew would show up to rehearsals playing his drums in only his underwear !! He was getting good ,..but he was going through this weird 'Seattle' thing (Laughs)...
In 2009, Greenhouse Effect use the crazy antics of their wild 'videos', great songs, and timeless weirdness, to captivate a world audience as they have driven themselves into the top of Myspace.com's All time music charts,..."We like Myspace ,..it looks pro and it gives G.e. a great forum,...yeah we love our Myspace profile ,..and we have a crowd out there that seems to take delight in joining in with us,...being in the tops of the Myspace charts means yer gonna get a lot of new 'Myspace friends' ,..it means a lot to us,...Myspace has really helped Greenhouse Effect a lot,...they have taken us to the top,...they are forcing radio stations to play 'Brandy',..if yer a college radio,..you have no choice but to play the biggest and best alternative rock and EMO songs and that means that they 'have to' play Greenhouse Effect - because we're big on the web,...and radio stations get listened to - if they play 'Brandy',..its like frickin' ransom !! They don't have a choice,...NET RADIO loves G.e. - we are literally 'making them'....- the internet is 'everything' now !! yeah,..we act goofey - but were laughing all the way to the bank now,...Me and my nephew know,...that its only a matter of time before this all goes like 'wooosh' and it will...

Haggins says that he giddily often fields call and emails from a lot of people curious about G.e. ,..but also from many 'former members' of the band itself "there are 8 guys who appeared in G.e. at one time or another and I'm certain and sure that when 'Brandy" turns into a multi-million dollar extravaganza,..well...everybody is waitin' around for a piece of THAT PIE (LAUGHS)' says Higgins "That's gonna be a big chunk of change,...well - at least it 'should' be ,...as its one of the biggest songs on the net ever !!"
Haggins says that punk rockers back in the South Bay have divided opinions about the large success of G.e. "A lot of people back in Redondo Beach think that we're sell outs" says Haggins "but like i have written before,...i have left them all behind,...i want to do music like the Beatles 'Revolver' and the Beach boys Pet sounds and David Bowie,..i don't wanna be stuck in punk rock or heavy metal,...we always wanted to be weird like Peter Gabriel with Genesis or Neil Young's "After the Gold rush",..we wanna do classic rock,...we're not a punk or heavy metal band,..we hate styles and categories - we defy them !!" The problem of being the guy who wrote classics like BEN IS DEAD, STAR, AND WAITING FOR YOUR LOVE TO FAIL does plague Haggins and his ambitions to craft pop masterpieces Brandy and It ain't easy and especially WHITE BLACK THANG...."well,..i admit that this is all confusing,...we have like these fm rockers blues people that love 'White black' and 'God's joke' but they hate 'Brandy" they think its lame and gay,...then we have these Morrisey Kroq-ers who love 'Brandy" but they hate all of our other songs,...man, this is weird !!"
"As for people dissing me,..i know that it is there" says Haggins "if yer some kid that was born in 89',1990 or 91 who is 18 and yer dissin' me - remember this ,...yer dissin' a guy who was 'accepted' as the lead singer of Swa !! yes,..i've rehearsed and jammed many times with Chuck Dukowski of Black Flag !! So dig that - and dig it good !! Yer dissin' the guy who threw all those Wilson Park fests,.....and yer dissin' the man who wrote BEN IS DEAD !! So watch it man !! I 'was' playing punk rock at the Hermosa Saloon and alternative rock 'before' most of you little nutcases were 'even born' !!....A guy with good reviews in Flipside in 89'...
Sites like Somanymp3s.com and net toys like the Zeus linking robot help Hagins and Greenhouse Effect to easily breeze past many artists but there is no doubt the power catchy songs at G.e's myspace,..namely WHITE BLACK THANG and BRANDY don't hurt matters one bit at all,.....

HAGINS says he takes pride in the possible version of the three piece G.e. with Martin Silva on drums.."Marty was the reason why we were so good live - he was the reason why there 'was' a G.e. !!,...and having a super talented writer and artist like Hagan Kelley in the band and on bass - THAT is important !!,...i told Hagan he should try to get us some surf style 'sponsorship' with his SUPER SURF BOARDS COMPANY IN ENCINITAS Calif. "We need a financial backer " says Haggins "we need somebody to believe in g.e and to believe in me and 'the vision'.. ,..and our song BRANDY - i have always long said ,..that the only thing that can stop G.E. is 'others' ,..it ain't me - i have always fought to make it - though i did finally give up in 1992,....somewhere in my heart, soul, and brain there was always a low fire still burning for G.E. - I ALWAYS KNEW THAT,..one day i would be back !! Hagins says he has talked with virtually all 8 former members of ge...."i think i've had chats with everyone except Rich Hebben ,...its funny,..because 'he' and Keegan 'started' the band - LONG BEFORE I WAS EVEN COMING AROUND !! Haggins says his musical dreams of 2009 are a labor of love in honor of South Bay musicians and studio engineers who have left the building among them the great Late Tom Shannan from Redondo Beach band Death & Taxe$ and studio wizard and musician Bill Krodel who played keyboards on many Greenhouse Effect songs; "My goal is to get more people to eventually hear Death & taxe$ and Tom Shannon,...as this guy was the most amazing bassist i ever saw,..and a great singer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist,...theres a lot of other artists in the South bay who i want to help and make sure that they get seen and heard,...'cause i know what its like to go nowhere" says Higgins...."i don't wanna see musical dreams crushed and i don't wanna see people be jealous and fight and argue,...WE ALL MUST SUPPORT EACH OTHER - WE HAVE TO,...THAT'S THE KEY,...there's alot of deconstructive bad evil people who intentionally try to hold others down and say mean things about them - and for no reason,...there's no reasoning or talking to these people - THEY ARE FOOLISH !! I WANT TO BE ONE WHO SUPPORTS AND 'HELPS' BANDS and people,..i've never been one to cut other musicians down - unless they fuck with me first - then i get pissed - but i will still respect their art and craft - if what they got has merit,...." Haggins says that his new internet celebrity has turned many around him who often doubted him into 'new believers' ; "Its weird,...EVERYBODY WANTS to talk about G.e. now - they never did before,..they all ask me about 'Brandy" and all my songs,...they open doors for me,...they treat me 'and' Flipper too like rock n roll Hall of fame royalty now,...and believe me,..i am a guy who is used to always arguing with everybody and being doubted endlessly,..now i get endless support and pats on the back ....whats really fucking strange is when someone wants my auto-graph and i'm like 'what the fuck ??",...."i just think a lot of this is phony - where the hell were ALL these people five years ago or 20 years ago - I'M OLD NOW,...WHAT FUCKING GOOD DOES IT DO TO BLOW ME NOW ?? Haggins says that his quest for some rich million-aire or 'financial backer' to help G.e. and "Brandy" to BOTH get on the radio 'and' sell records is a fervent never-ending hardship. "Its frustrating for me right now,..because i have the most red hot songs in cyberspace and i can do very little with them as i simply don't have the kind of advertising money or payola it takes to get on the radio involving back-office dealings... "i write hit records" says Haggins "you people out there enjoy my music and go along with me,...i keep you entertained,..but i cannot at the same time be a manager, agent, publicist, and music lawyer TOO !! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE !! IF INTERSCOPE RECORDS OR WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS OR COLUMBIA RECORDS GOT A HOLD OF GREENHOUSE EFFECT BRANDY - WE WOULD MAKE MILLIONS OF dollars,...we would sell millions of mp3's ,...this song will 'over-night' become like one of rocks' biggest all time hits ever,...its a classic - 'that's' why THIS IS ALL so frustrating,...People aren't helping Clark Hagins because I am me - if it was someone else,...then they would care,...but when people look at me,..its like 'i just look like' the type of guy you don't wanna help - WELL, THAT IS BULLSHIT - WE GOTTA HAVE A WORLD WHERE YOU JUST HELP someone with talent regardless of who they are,....it feels like i've been set up to be this,.....'I just cannot understand the way i've been treated by the world 'cause i would NEVER treat someone that way,...if i hear a hit,..its a hit ,..no matter who does it,...whether its by Clark Hagins or who-ever !!! I'' tell ya this though,....when i do finally make some money at all this shit,..its gonna feel great -even if it is too late,.....'cause i got bills to pay !! i 'know' that someone out there has a clue !! BRANDY is a Greenhouse Effect song from March of 1992 when Clark Hagins was pretty much 'alone' in G.e. as a virtual 'solo-project'; : "It has a heavy 80's band feel to it ,..very much Tears for Fears (Laughs) ' says Higgins "that's cause it was practically recorded 'in' the 1980's !!" Bassist Rick Carmody and keyboardist Bill Krodel appear on the song along with Hagins, of course the veiled keyboards by Krodel ,..giving the song its necessary ambiance....the heavy guitar of Haggins sounds more like 'Big Country' than Nirvana as the song rumbles along like a 'Meat is murder' Morrisey classic ....
BOTH Hagins and Nephew Kelley they that they get the 'writer's DNA' from Hagins' Father Gary B. Hagins who taught at Palos Verdes High School for over 30 years. "He also wrote like 30 books" says Haggins,....
